A young woman’s decision to clean off President Trump’s Hollywood star threw the internet into a frenzy with replacement candidates.
Makenna Greenwald posted photos on Twitter after she cleaned graffiti off of the Walk of Fame star, which was recently covered in resistance stickers.
“Stopped to clean @realDonaldTrump Hollywood Star,” she captioned the photos.
“Nothing but respect for MY President. #RaisedRight.”
Lin-Manuel Miranda, Shonda Rhimes getting Walk of Fame stars
Hollywood Walk of Fame stars are relatively easy to get: one nominated by a fan, studio, recording label or even themselves, nominees or their sponsors “donate” $ 40,000 to to the Hollywood Historic Trust for creation, installation and maintenance of the star.
Since Trump announced his run for President, the former reality TV host has seen his star desecrated several times, including in November when a man destroyed it with a sledge hammer and pickaxe.
Greenwald’s clean-up was met with praise from supporters including Eric Trump and Sean Hannity.
Others, however, took the opportunity to put a new star in the Oval Office.
