Entertainment insiders were “shocked” to see party planner Rob Goldstone on their televisions all week after news broke that he’d orchestrated a meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer, who allegedly had damaging information about Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
When Goldstone helped coordinate a May 23 fundraiser on the Lower East Side, featuring a Russian singer he represented named Emin Agalarov, the “bizarre” Brit came across as anything but a criminal mastermind.
“(Emin) was going to be early, then he was going to be late, then he was going to be honored for something,” said a source with knowledge of the event, an ACE foundation fundraiser to help the homeless.
The Alex Donner Orchestra was the house band that night, but Emin brought his own five-piece and the groups took turns on stage.
Another Russian lobbyist attended meeting with Donald Trump Jr.
Our insider recalled that Goldstone was “eager” to promote Emin and snickered that “he talks really fast and seems constantly distracted by… I don’t know what.”
Our insider was privvy to Emin’s performance that night.
“It was okay,” we’re told.
