A winner of the reality competition series “So You Think You Can Dance” is getting jail time for domestic violence.
Joshua Allen — who was the winner of Season 4 back in 2008 — was sentenced to one year in an L.A. County jail after he pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge stemming from an incident where he threw a glass vase at an ex-girlfriend, The Los Angeles Daily News reports.
In April of 2016, he assaulted the ex-girlfriend and strangled her and months later attacked her, and she ran into a nearby coffee shop for help, according to prosecutors.
“Allen chased her into the coffee shop and threw a glass vase at a woman who attempted to help the victim and attacked another man who also tried to intervene,” prosecutors said, according to the L.A. Daily News.
