Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix’s marriage has officially gone out to sea.
The Oscar-winning actor’s wife has filed for divorce, according E! News.
The couple, who have two sons together — 13-year-old Indiana and 9-year-old Atticus — announced in March 2016 that they had split after 10 years of marriage.
Phoenix, the youngest sibling of Joaquin and River, cited irreconcilable differences, according to E! News, and requested joint physical and legal custody of their sons, as well as spousal support.
The actors met in 1995 when Affleck co-starred with Phoenix in “To Die For.”
They began dating in 2000, got engaged in 2003 and were married in 2006.
Affleck, who won the 2017 Oscar for best actor for his role in “Manchester by the Sea,” was sued by two women in 2010 who accused him of sexual harassment on the set of the movie “I’m Still Here.”
He settled both lawsuits out of court for undisclosed amounts and has continued to deny the allegations against him.
“I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else,” he told the Boston Globe after his Academy Award win.
“There’s really nothing I can do about it. Other than live my life the way I know I live it and to speak to what my own values are and how I try to live by them all the time.”
