Savre every moment.
“Close to Home” actress Danielle Savre got pointers from a showbiz veteran while in town to attend a fashion show and promote her much-anticipated “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Station 19,” which premieres March 22.
“Whoopi Goldberg gave some advice on how to handle fame to Danielle,” said an insider at the Chromat fashion show in the West Village, where Goldberg chatted with the 29-year-old rising star.
The pair was seated in the front row at the bizarre runway presentation that was inspired by Cheetos snack brand. Goldberg, who is reviewing shows for Interview magazine during Fashion Week, had a good review for “Station 19,” even though the program hasn’t yet aired.
“I’m sure the show is going to be a hit,” our insider heard Goldberg say. “It was really cute.”
A source at Savre’s Times Square hotel isn’t sure exactly what Goldberg told the actress, but she immediately got to apply whatever it was she’d learned about handling stardom when trying to leave the hotel Monday morning.
“When Savre got sidelined by a group of fans wielding iPhones and asking for selfies at the Sanctuary Hotel, where she was staying, she happily chatted and posed so long she almost missed her flight to L.A.,” we’re told.
On Saturday, Savre shot a photo spread for Metropolitan Magazine at Hank Freid’s Haven Rooftop bar as well as the hotel’s Sweet Suite. Members of the actress’ team told fans she’d be back in New York in a few weeks once “Station 19” airs.
Savre told us last month, before the show’s name had been announced, that she didn’t have to go far to find inspiration for her new role as a badass firefighter. Her sister Stephanie Savre is a member of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
