Two white South African farmers accused of forcing a black man into a coffin and threatening to burn him alive were found guilty of attempted murder Friday.
Judge Segopotje Mphahlele told the accused that he found them guilty “for attempted murder of Mr [Victor] Mlotshwa.”
Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen, were also found guilty of kidnap, intimidation and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Footage recorded on their phones shows Jackson and Oosthuizen shove the victim into a coffin and close the lid as he begs for his life.
“Please don’t kill me,” Victor Rethabile Mlotshwa pleaded, the footage showed.
“Why shouldn’t we, when you are killing our farm?” one of the accused replied.
The video surfaced on social media but has since been removed.
