Shia LaBeouf isn’t an alcoholic.
At least that’s what his lawyer Doug Andrews claims. Andrews told TMZ that the “Transformers” actor doesn’t have an uncontrollable desire to drink but can’t stop once he does start knocking them back.
LaBeouf was arrested last weekend for disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and obstruction after Georgia police found him “losing control of himself.” Later footage emerged of the 31-year-old actor telling a black officer that he would go to hell because of his skin color. He also accused cops of being racist because “a black man arrested me for being white.”
The troubled actor has been in Georgia shooting the film “Peanut Butter Falcon” and TMZ reported that the cast and crew were shocked to hear of his arrest as LaBeouf has only been “incredibly professional” and “so nice” on set.
LaBeouf has returned to the set of his movie and apologized for his behavior. Andrews claims that there will be no more problems as LaBeouf is abstaining from imbibing for the rest of the shoot.
“I am deeply ashamed of my behaviour and make no excuses for it. My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst… It is a new low. A low I hope is a bottom,” the former Disney star said.
Supposedly LaBeouf hopes to make amends for his racist rant by doing something “meaningful.”
