Sheryl Crow is alive, releases song citing Kid Rock’s Senate run

No, Sheryl Crow is not “rolling in her grave” because Kid Rock is running for Senate — but she is upset about it.

Crow was motivated to release a new song, “Dude, I’m Still Alive,” after a Twitter user assumed the pop artist would be spinning in said tomb over Kid Rock’s political aspirations.

“If Kid Rock runs for Senate/I wouldn’t be surprised/But not over my dead body/Cause Dude I’m still alive,” Crow sings, referencing the tweet and her once-rumored former fling Kid Rock’s bid for a Michigan Senate seat.

When Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, made the announcement last month, a Twitter user named @tunacatsup posted, “Oh man, @SherylCrow must be rolling in her grave right now.”

Kid Rock is actually a contender in Michigan Senate race

Crow’s song included other very-much alive references to Rock, including the lyric, “Maybe Mr. Ritchie/Can fix some things for us/Like making sure Detroit is set/To make an electric tour bus.”

Crow is kicking off her next tour in Nashville this September, that is, if she survives.
