Marvel’s upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” isn’t slated to hit theaters until next May, but fans got a special sneak peek at the highly anticipated flick Tuesday when a trailer leaked online.
The three-minutes-plus clip opens with the “Guardians of the Galaxy” crew being forced to clear their windshield of some particularly bulky debris in the form of Thor himself.
It continues with glimpses of some other familiar faces, including Spider-Man sporting the fancy suit he scored at the end of “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Iron Man, a bearded Captain America and Loki, as an ominous voice-over warns of destiny’s imminent arrival.
Of course, Josh Brolin’s ultimate villain Thanos also makes an appearance, looking just as evil as he did in the “Avengers: Age of Ultron” credits scene.
James Gunn says ‘Guardians’ will continue after ‘Avengers’ films
The trailer was originally screened at San Diego Comic-Con.
“Infinity War” is the follow-up to the 2015 blockbuster “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
The events of the movie — in which the Avengers join forces with the Guardians to take down Thanos — take place four years after the end of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”
The flick will hit theaters May 4, 2018.
