A Tuesday night basketball game between the Magic and Timberwolves quickly turned into fight night.
Magic guard Arron Afflalo and Timberwolves forward Nemanja Bjelica got into a fight in the second quarter and were ejected from Tuesday’s game.
The two players shoved one another, before Afflalo took a swing at Bjelica. Bjelica put Afflalo in a headlock to keep the fight from escalating further.
Both players were given technical fouls just four minutes prior to their ejection.
After the game, Bjelica was defensive when talking about the incident with ESPN.
“I don’t want to feel like a victim here, that’s part of the game,” Bjelica said. “But he took a swing at me, and I was just trying to protect myself, first of all, and to calm him down because he was wild. I don’t know what’s wrong with that guy, but at that point I have to protect myself and my family.”
Afflalo did not speak to the media after the game.
The Magic ended up picking up a 108-102 victory.
