See every nickname Yankees, Mets will wear for Players Weekend

Now batting for the Yankees… “All Rise.”

The Bombers will make franchise history this month, wearing names — well, nicknames — on the backs of their uniforms as part of the inaugural Players Weekend.

All MLB teams will have the opportunity to sport non-traditional uniforms from Aug. 25-27, MLB and the MLB Players Association announced Wednesday, in addition to colorful spikes, bats, gloves, etc. Players can also wear T-shirts that promote charitable causes during pregame workouts and postgame interviews.

Basically, conformity is out and uniqueness is in for a few days. And while plenty of New York baseball players are taking advantage (Mets starter Noah Syndergaard of course chose “Thor”), some don’t seem to be that into creativity (for example, Greg Bird picked… “Bird”).

Aaron Judge told MLB.com that Todd Frazier was the one to come up with his uniform nickname.

“I was just going to put my last name because I didn’t really have anything to put on there,” Judge said. “(Frazier) was kind of razzing me a little bit and said, ‘Put ALL RISE,’ so I did it. We’ll see how it turns out. It should be cool.”
