Don’t believe everything you see on reality TV.
“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Tamra Judge’s eldest daughter Sydney Barney spoke out about their estrangement in a lengthy Facebook post on Monday.
The 18-year-old revealed that Judge, 49, repeatedly ignored her requests not to speak publicly about her or their situation, forcing her to share her side of the story.
What’s more, Sydney claimed that her mother’s to blame for their strained relationship.

“For starters, I did not move out when my parents (Judge and Simon Barney) got a divorce, it has to do with the living conditions at my mothers (SIC) house and the way she treated me and still treats me today,” she wrote.
Judge’s daughter alleged that her mother, whom she referred to as “the true parent alienator,” would speak negatively about her father in front of her and her siblings.
Sydney said on the social media site that Judge often called them “Simon or ‘mini Simon'” when they misbehaved.
In addition to hurling hurtful epithets, Sydney said the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star “was neglectful,” leaving them without food and contributing little to their care.

“She was no mother to me,” Sydney wrote on Facebook. “This was an unhealthy environment for all of us kids and unfortunately I was the only one to recognize this and take steps to get out of that toxic environment.”
Fans were shocked by the teen’s allegations. In July, Judge told The Daily Dish she and Sydney were working to repair their relationship.
She’s also touched on the situation several times on the Bravo reality show.
“We’re making progress. Every day is a step forward and we’re just really trying to bring the family back together,” she said at the time.

Judge admitted that their journey hadn’t been an easy one, but seemed optimistic. She told the publication she was hopeful that speaking out about their situation publicly, on the show and otherwise, would help others in similar situations.
“We’ve had a long journey and we’re making progress, which is good,” she told the Daily Dish. “And if I can just help other people — I think the worst thing is, most people think they’re the only ones going through it. People don’t want to talk about it. People don’t share it. I’ve had neighbors come up to me and say, ‘I’m going through the same thing.'”
Judge posed alongside Sydney’s father, whom she’s also had a very public rocky relationship with in recent years, at their daughter’s high school graduation in June.

Judge and Barney divorced in 2010 after 11 years of marriage. Much of the demise of their relationship played out before Bravo’s cameras in Season 5 of “Real Housewives of Orange County.”
