Patriots already sending fans tickets to AFC Championship game

The Patriots are giving the rest of the AFC bulletin board material.

Patriots season ticket holders are apparently already being sent tickets for this year’s AFC Championship game, set to take place on January 21, 2018.

While the move seems pretty arrogant, the Patriots actually have a resume to back up getting these tickets into fans’ hands already.

New England has reached the AFC Championship game the past six seasons, going 3-3 in that time. The Jets were the last team to knock the Patriots out of the playoffs before the AFC Championship after they won their AFC Divisional round matchup in the 2010 season.

Following their fifth Super Bowl victory last season, the Patriots already have a target on their backs and every NFL team will be looking to knock off the defending champions. Sending out AFC Championship tickets in August is basically adding fuel to that fire.

However, the Patriots aren’t the only team trying to be proactive either.

The Raiders, who are expected to be one of the top teams in the AFC this season, are also giving out AFC Championship game tickets to season ticket holders. Oakland’s decision to do what the Patriots are doing is a little odd considering the Raiders haven’t reached an AFC Championship game since 2002.
