Ohio State coach Urban Meyer to retire after Buckeyes play in Rose Bowl; Ryan Day will be new coach

After beginning his head coaching career at Bowling Green, Meyer moved on to Utah and had a perfect 12-0 season in 2004 before stepping into the spotlight when he accepted the top job at Florida in 2005. It was at Florida where Meyer became a household name, winning his first two national championships (2006, 2008). But health concerns caused Meyer to step away from the game in 2009, before returning to lead Ohio State in 2012, after making a promise to his family that he would take better care of himself. Meyer recorded his second perfect 12-0 season. Two years later he won his third national title by leading the Buckeyes in the first-ever College Football Playoffs.
