Michael Strahan pinky swears that he is okay after losing a bit of his finger.
The “Good morning America” host was noticeably absent from Tuesday morning’s show and returned Wednesday to share that he had “a little accident.”
“Lost a little bit of my pinky,” the 45-year-old told co-hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos.
The former New York Giant did not reveal how he suffered the injury, but based on the jokes coming from fellow hosts, Strahan appeared to be in good spirits about the incident. He appeared next to Roberts at the “GMA” desk with a bandage wrapped around his left pinky.

“A guy before just said, ‘Michael, we pinky swear.’ Or something like that,” he said on Wednesday morning’s show, according to Us Weekly. “There’s going to be a lot of jokes for a while but I’m OK and glad to be back.”
This isn’t the first time the talk show host suffered an injury to one of his extremities — in 2016 he showed off his mangled fingers as a result of his years of playing football.
Late night host Jimmy Fallon also nearly lost his finger back in 2015. The “Saturday Night Live” alum fell over a braided rug in his home and his wedding band got caught, leading to ring avulsion. He underwent surgery and kept his hand under wraps for the weeks following the accident.
A rep for “GMA” did not immediately respond to a Daily News request for comment.
