The Zuckerberg family network just got bigger.
Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have welcomed their second child — a baby girl named August.
Zuckerberg announced the happy news — in a Facebook post, naturally — on Monday by sharing a message addressed to the new baby that explained the importance of enjoying childhood.
“Childhood is magical. You only get to be a child once, so don’t spend it worrying too much about the future,” read the letter from both Zuckerberg and Chan. “You’ve got us for that, and we’ll do everything we possibly can to make sure the world is a better place for you and all children in your generation.”

“August, we love you so much and we’re so excited to go on this adventure with you,” the post continued. “We wish you a life of joy, love and the same hope you give us.”
They did not reveal the baby’s date of birth, but the Facebook post said she was born in August.
The new baby gives Zuckerberg and Chan two daughters — their first, Max, was born in November 2015. Zuckerberg and Chan announced in March that they were expecting their second kid.
A few months before they welcomed their first baby, Zuckerberg revealed that he and his wife had been trying for several years to get pregnant, and that Chan had suffered three miscarriages.

When he announced they were having a second child, Zuckerberg said he immediately hoped they were having another daughter.
“We are all better people because of the strong women in our lives — sisters, mothers and friends,” he wrote in a Facebook post in March. “We can’t wait to welcome our new little one and do our best to raise another strong woman.”
Zuckerberg and Chan began dating in 2003 after meeting while he was a sophomore at Harvard, and married in 2012.
