LeBron James will reportedly opt out of his contract next week, passing on his $ 21.6 million option, but is expected to return to Cleveland.

This time, there won’t exactly be a LeBron James sweepstakes.

According to ESPN, the Cavs superstar, who dragged the injury-riddled roster to the NBA Finals this past season, will opt out of his $ 21.6 million player option to become a free agent.

But before you start campaigning for your team to create cap space, there will be no “Decision” this time – he will resign in Cleveland – the report says.

James is likely to sign another one-year deal with Cleveland and opt out again after 2015-16 when the salary cap balloons for teams.

The report also notes that James is likely to wait until other free agents are handled by the team – Kevin Love is an unrestricted free agent while Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert are restricted free agents.

Love is expected to be offered a max deal of five years and $ 110 miollion from Cleveland, but will likely meet with potential suitors next week when free agency begins.

Thompson – who is represented by – could command as much as $ 13 million per season.
