La La Anthony praises Carmelo as a ‘great dad’ on Father’s Day

Carmelo Anthony still scored a glowing Father’s Day wish from his estranged wife La La weeks after a separation filled with drama.

La La posted a praise-packed video tribute to the Knicks star that showed him giving basketball pointers to their 10-year-old son Kiyan — despite accusations that Carmelo cheated on his longtime spouse and knocked up a gentleman’s club dancer.

“Thank you for being Kiyan’s hero and a great dad. He’s the luckiest boy in the world. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY @carmeloanthony,” La La captioned the Twitter video.

It’s unclear if the video was filmed recently, or if it was shot during happier times.

Carmelo and La La broke up in April after seven years of marriage. Allegations that the Knicks superstar cheated on La La surfaced shortly after, with TMZ reporting that an unidentified club dancer claimed Anthony got her pregnant. She was said to be six-and-a-half months along at the time.

The NBA All-Star and the former MTV host have both remained tightlipped about the split, but La La, 37, made her first public appearance since the split at last month’s Met Gala, where she walked the red carpet by herself — and without a ring on.

It’s not surprising she commemorated Father’s Day for Carmelo considering they spent Mother’s Day together as a family last month at a dinner at the Neta sushi restaurant in the West Village.

Neither has filed divorce documents yet — and there’s apparently no rush on either side to do so — but it’s considered a sure thing that their marriage is over, according to TMZ.

Anthony’s professional career is currently in flux as well, as Knicks President Phil Jackson suggested to reporters after yet another losing season that the 33-year-old veteran would “be better off elsewhere” where he could compete for an NBA title.
