Kristaps Porzingis appears to be in good spirits.
A day after undergoing surgery to repair his torn left ACL, Porzingis offered an encouraging message for fans in an Instagram post.
“First of all I want to thank you for all the love and support,” Porzingis wrote. “Im (sic) attacking my rehab right away. I truly believe that with consistent hard work, patience and positive attitude I’ll come back stronger, better and sharper than ever. Much love”
The caption was posted underneath a photo of Porzingis riding home from the hospital after the operation. He has a large stabilizing brace on his left leg and is giving a salute to the camera. Porzingis added a heart emoji, an orange diamond, a blue diamond and a Latvian flag at the end of the post.
Knicks’ future uncertain with Porzingis surgery, Hardaway slump
The 7-3 forward tore his ACL just over a week ago when he landed awkwardly after a dunk against the Bucks. He will miss the remainder of this season and likely a good chunk of next season, as the Knicks take a cautious approach to their franchise player’s rehabilitation.
