Kanye West’s extravagant album launch party two years ago was memorable for the rapper — and not just for the music.
The hip hop mogul fondly reflected on entering Madison Square Garden to debut “The Life of Pablo” with Lamar Odom by his side just four months after the ex-NBA star was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel.
“My favorite moment of walking into MSG to play Saint Pablo, I used to go to the hospital and play Lamar the album when he was learning to walk and talk again,” West tweeted Sunday.
“Then we walked into the arena together.”
Kanye West gives most Kanye interview ever
West, 40, held his “The Life of Pablo” listening party at The Garden in February 2016, shortly before he released the album to the public. He also premiered his Yeezy Season 3 line of clothing at the glamorous event.
The life and career of Lamar Odom
It served as the first public appearance for Odom — the ex-husband of West’s sister-in-law Khloe Kardashian — since he was hospitalized the previous October. Authorities later said evidence showed there was cocaine in his system.
Odom, 38, spent three months under medical care and was released a month before West’s event.
West’s wife Kim Kardashian has previously spoken about the effect West’s music had on Odom while he was in the hospital.
Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson welcome baby girl
“Kanye really felt we can cure him through music, like we can get him to talk,” Kardashian said on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” in May 2016. “He would go to the hospital and he would rap and sing, and I think Lamar started to get his function back and started to talk once he started to listen to a lot of music.”
West’s post about Odom comes less than a week after Khloe welcomed her first child with Tristan Thompson.
The tweet was one of several wide-ranging posts shared by West on Sunday. The rapper, who returned to Twitter on Friday evening after a lengthy hiatus, also posted a picture of a T-shirt from his concert tour with Caitlyn Jenner on the back.
“My favorite Saint Pablo Tee,” he wrote.
West also shared concept art for a neck tattoo he wants of his son Saint’s name, as well as early models of his popular Yeezy shoes.
