“I think going into spring training we felt we had a good team. At the same time we needed to demonstrate that. Coming out of spring training. I think we demonstrated that and still felt the same way. The first two weeks of the season was pretty strong evidence of what we had expected of ourselves. The last three weeks have not been the best evidence of where we think we should be,” the Mets GM said. “We’re still very bullish. We have to play better than we have over the last to three weeks. Part of that has been schedule, part of it has been weather, part of it has been inconsistent play. There have been a variety of factors.
