Jared Leto, Margot Robbie getting a 'Suicide Squad' spin-off

It’s a match made in the DC universe.

“Suicide Squad” stars Jared Leto and Margot Robbie will star in another DC spin-off that will be a look at the pair’s “criminal love story,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is set to be penned by directors and executive producers Glenn Ficarra and John Reque of “This is Us,” who also worked on “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” The two are in contract negotiations to helm the project.

Leto and Robbie have already agreed to the project, according to reports. A second “Suicide Squad” is also in the works, but does not yet have a director, according to ScreenRant.

A love story featuring the popular villains is unrelated to a Warner Bros. Joker spin-off announced yesterday that would tell the origins of the Joker and feature a younger actor — not Leto.

That flick, directed by Todd Phillips, has Martin Scorsese on board as a producer and is reported to be in a gritty ’80s style like Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver” and “Raging Bull,” according to Deadline.

The Harley Quinn-Joker spin-off is further along than the Scorsese-linked project, a source tells THR, but exact timelines for either film are still unclear.
