Inside Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron’s Eiffel Tower dinner

How do you say Kentucky Fried Chicken in French?

French President Emmanuel Macron is treating Donald Trump to a meal tonight at the famed Jules Verne restaurant on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, part of Trump’s Bastille Day visit to the City of Light.

The six-course, $ 262 tasting menu at the Alain Ducasse boite is fit for a king — but not our president, a famous teetotaler who also distains the haute cuisine that made France famous.

At Le Jules Verne,le menu includes oven-baked blue lobster with tomato and black olives; roasted free-range chicken, toasted chickpeas and sorrel; and marinated sea bream, courgette and lime (courgette being the fancy French word for zucchini, Mr. President).

What President Trump should ask French president Emmanuel Macron at meeting

It’s trophy food befitting its regal setting — but it’s unclear what Trump will eat, given his stated preference for overcooked steak, burgers, fried chicken and the “best” taco bowls in the world (at Trump Tower, natch).

This being France, the house sommelier will be on-hand to guide the world leaders “through perfect food-wine pairing,” according to the menu.

Again, le vin rouge is wasted on the Big Orange.

A spokeswoman for the Jules Verne declined to say if a special tasting (or tasteless) menu has been prepared for the American President.
