Get ready to cry — ‘This Is Us’ just released a Season 2 preview

“This Is Us” fans had the summer to dry their tear ducts, but fall approaching can only mean one thing: it’s time to cry.

The NBC family drama — which has gained a reputation as a heartwarming tearjerker — released a short preview clip for the upcoming Season 2, and if the three-minute scene is any indication, the Pearson gang is tugging on viewers’ heartstrings harder than ever.

The clip features Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and his mother Rebecca (Mandy Moore) discussing Randall and his wife Beth’s decision to adopt a third child.

Beth is struggling, so Randall has reached out to mom for some sage advice, as she adopted Randall when he was an infant.

The scene soon flashes back to 1977, where Randall’s father Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) is trying to convince Rebecca to adopt the tot after the birth of their twins, Kate and Kevin.

“I said no, but your father was so sure,” the modern-day Rebecca remembers. “I was tired and I was grieving and he just kept pushing me. He was so determined that you were meant to be.”

As viewers know, Jack — spoiler alert — dies at some point while the Pearson kids are teenagers, though the circumstances of his death remain a mystery.

“Our marriage wasn’t perfect, it’s true, but none are,” Rebecca recalls of her late husband. “And your father wasn’t perfect either but he was pretty damn close. As close as they come. He pushed a stranger on me and that stranger became my child and that child became my life. He became you.”
