Learning an instrument is not just for your 10-year-old.
The Third Street Music School in the East Village hosts a music program for senior citizens. The group consists of people who’ve been playing their whole lives, as well as those who played a note since high school.
“What people don’t realize about the East Village area is that it’s a place where there are a lot of empty nesters as well as people moving back into the city,” said Valerie Lewis, executive director of the Third Street Music School. “The program is here to really serve this new and burgeoning community.”
