Eagles corner Daryl Worley, who was reportedly arrested Sunday morning, has been released, according to the team.
The 23-year-old was found passed out in his car by police on a Philadelphia highway early Sunday. Officers used a taser on Worley after becoming “combative with police,” according to NFL Network. Worley was also reportedly found with a gun.
“We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley’s arrest this morning,” the Eagles said in a statement before deciding release the corner.
It was a short-lived tenure with Philadelphia for Worley, who was acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Panthers in March. In his first two NFL seasons, both with the Panthers, Worley appeared in 31 games while making three interceptions and a pair of sacks.
