‘Curvy Widow’ playwright is really into sex

A nice gaggle of A-listers caught the opening of Bobby Goldman‘s autobiographical comedy “Curvy Widow” at the Westside Theater on Thursday night.

Bebe Neuwirth, Sutton Foster, Anthony Rapp, Robin Lord Taylor, John Cameron Mitchell, Katie Finneran and soap star Ron Raines were in the audience as Nancy Opel portrayed Goldman (the “Curvy Widow” of the title) trying to find love after the death of her husband, James Goldman (“Follies”).

After the show, Goldman told us she hopes the play will empower women to “have as much sex as they want” without feeling guilty.

“There are myths about women of a certain age not being interested (in sex),” Goldman said. “Boy, are they wrong about women loving sex!”

“Curvy Widow” runs through Oct. 15.
