A young American man’s trip to paradise ended with a crowd beating him to death on a Greek island.
The tourist, identified by local media as 22-year-old Texan Bakari Henderson, died early Friday in a party district on the island of Zakynthos after a fight outside a bar.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fight, which newspaper Kathimerini reported occurred outside of the “bar code” bar.
Henderson was reportedly surrounded by ten people during the beating, and pronounced dead at a local hospital from severe head injuries.

Police on the island said they have arrested two people, a 34-year-old Greek man and a 32-year-old British man of Serbian origin, on murder charges.
Henderson’s Facebook page says that he was a student at the University of Arizona.
A U.S. State Department official confirmed to the Daily News that an American citizen had been killed on Zakynthos, and that it is providing consular services to his family.
Henderson’s death is not the first time that violence has visited the tourist hot spot.
In 2011 19-year-old Brit Robert Sebbage was stabbed to death after an argument with a cab driver, later convicted of murder.
