Channing Tatum's proposal plan to Jenna Dewan Tatum was a fail

He’s no Casanova!

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum pretty much define relationship goals, but that hasn’t always been the case, the Hollywood heart throb revealed during an appearance on BBC Radio 1.

“When I proposed to my wife I did something pretty cruel because I thought she was on to me. I basically told her I never wanted to get married to try to throw her off,” he told host Nick Grimshaw.

“I told her, ‘I don’t believe in the institution of marriage and I don’t think I ever want to get married.’ She basically broke down crying,” Tatum, 37, continued. “I thought, ‘This is not going well at all’ so I had to propose to her sooner rather than later.”

Tatum popped the question in 2008 during a trip to Hawaii, People reported at the time. Despite his horrible prank, Dewan, 36, accepted his proposal.

They first met on the set of “Step Up,” in 2006 though they didn’t start dating until after filming wrapped.

Tatum and Dewan recreated their most iconic routine from the film in August 2016 in celebration of their 10 year anniversary.

Tatum and Dewan welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Everly, in 2013.
