Case Keenum reportedly plans to sign with the Broncos

And another one bites the dust.

Less than one week after the Browns dropped out of the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes by trading for Tyrod Taylor, the Broncos appear to have followed suit.

Free agent quarterback Case Keenum “intends” to sign with the Broncos, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Broncos were one of four teams that were widely viewed as the favorites to sign Cousins, the premier quarterback in this year’s free agent class. That list is now trimmed down to the Jets, Vikings and Cardinals.

Signing Keenum now opens the door for the Broncos to trade out of the No. 5 spot, which could result in a QB-needy team jumping ahead of the Jets in the draft.

Keenum resurrected his career in Minnesota this past season, throwing for 3,547 yards and 22 touchdowns en route to leading the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game
