Bristol Palin (center) compares Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal to Lena Dunham’s (right) encounter from her book.
Bristol Palin has a lot to say about Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal and unlike most, she’s on his side.
In a blog post on Patheos, Bristol called out “Liberal Media” for “crucifying” the Duggar family, while they looked past Lena Dunham’s recount in her book “Not That Kind of Girl,” where she “sexually experimented” with her sister.
“I can’t believe how crazy the media is going over the Duggar family,” the 24-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin wrote in a post titled “Let’s Get This Straight, Liberals — What Kinds of Molestation are Acceptable?”
The Alaskan native shared an excerpt from Dunham’s book, comparing it to Duggar molesting five underage girls, four who were his sisters, when he was 14. She says there was a little “chatter” but nothing compared to the media circus that occurred with the Duggar family.
“Remember the liberal media outrage? Oh that’s right. It didn’t happen,” Palin wrote about the “Girls” creator scandal. “The liberal media darling Dunham was praised for her “honest and witty” book. The double standards make me sick.”
Bristol wasn’t the only Palin who posted her strong views on social media. Sarah took to Facebook to write a long rant on the matter.
“The intolerant left’s destructive personal intrusions and narrow-mindedness applied to their chosen targets are bad enough, but their double standards are beyond the pale,” she wrote in the post. “I’m not defending the Duggar boy’s obvious wrongdoing over a decade ago.”
“The main victim in any story like this isn’t the perpetrator, it’s the innocent ones so harmfully affected. I’m not an apologist for any sexual predator, but I’m sickened that the media gives their chosen ones a pass for any behavior as long as they share their leftwing politics,” Sarah adds.
The former Alaskan governor asked people to see what she considers a “double-standard” in two “similar stories,” and offers some advice to anyone under attack by the media.
“To the media’s targets I encourage, ‘Rise above by never claiming “victim”, tell the truth, and keep the faith!'”
