Forget the Saturday Night Massacre — Al Gore thinks the administration is more like the Red Wedding.
The former Vice President compared the White House to Westeros will blasting the Trump administration on “All In with Chris Hayes” Wednesday night.
“I think, in the process, the President has been isolating himself from the rest of the country. You see Republicans in the House or Senate moving to separate themselves in increasing numbers from the dysfunction and distractions, constant distractions in the White House,” Gore said.
“Last week, somebody said it was like the Red Wedding in ‘Game of Thrones’ with people coming and going and I’m going to fire everybody.”
Al Gore: Trump’s Paris withdrawal is ‘reckless and indefensible’
The gruesome season 3 episode of the HBO hit, which left hundreds dead including Robb Stark and his family, might be a bit more bloody than the current administration, but only slightly: since January, Trump has lost top officials including Anthony Scaramucci, Reince Priebus, Sean Spicer, Michael Dubke, James Comey, Michael Flynn, Sally Yates and Preet Bharara.
Hayes responded by asking if Gore watches that “like everybody else and just say, like, ‘what the heck is going on?’”
“‘Game of Thrones’ or the White House?” Gore deadpanned.
“It’s deeply troubling. And for me, the most troubling part of it is it serves as a set of constant distractions from the problems we should be addressing. Nothing’s getting done.”
