The set-up heard ’round the Twitterverse has finally been realized.
Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon met up with Sally Field’s son Saturday night — one month after Field played matchmaker for her love-struck kin.
“Thanks, mom,” Sam Greisman wrote on Twitter, alongside a photo of him with his arm around Rippon.
The photo garnered plenty of excitement on Twitter, where those who had been following the potential love match responded with excited images — and jokes, like the user who shared a GIF of Field’s famous “You like me!” Oscars speech from 1985.
The pair crossed paths at the 2018 Human Rights Campaign Los Angeles Dinner, where Rippon was being honored with the Visibility Award.
The meeting between Greisman, 30, and Rippon, 28, had been several weeks in the making, after Field took it upon herself to inform Rippon about her son’s crush on the figure skater.
The “Forrest Gump” actress tweeted at the athlete a message Greisman shared about his “Olympic crush.”
In the text exchange, Field urged her son to “find a way” to score a date with Rippon — a move the Olympian praised as “bold.”
“Sam, your mom — I admire her. And I’m sure one day we’re going to meet. So thanks, mom,” he told BuzzFeed.
Rippon has been a hot commodity since the Olympics ended; last week, he met up with Reese Witherspoon on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” after the two gushed over each other on Twitter, and he also snagged a meeting with Shawn Mendes, his celebrity crush.
“He’s really tall but super cute. Like, how can anybody have anything bad to say about him?” Rippon said of the “Treat You Better” singer. “We talked for like 30 seconds but I kind of feel like we had a connection.”
