A couple of Bronx Bombers will be showcasing their power in Miami next week.
After both Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez received invites to participate in this year’s Home Run Derby—in addition to their All-Star selections—the pair of young sluggers have decided to accept, they said in an announcment via the Yankees’ Twitter.
“Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I’ll be participating in the Home Run Derby, and even better, I’ve got a friend coming with me,” Judge said as he motioned to Sanchez off-camera.
“Yes,” Sanchez said as the camera panned over to the Yankees’ backstop. “We’re gonna see you in Miami.”
Aaron Judge is the Yankees’ star no one saw coming
Judge leads all of baseball with 27 homers, three more than anyone else, and should offer plenty of pop during the showcase.
And even having missed a month due to injury, Sanchez has 13 homers. He also hit 20 in 53 games for the Yankees as a rookie a season ago.
