A makeup company is honoring Aaliyah’s sultry style

This new makeup collection is one in a million.

MAC Cosmetics is partnering with the family of late R&B singer Aaliyah to create a makeup line based on the singer’s signature sexy style.

The collection, announced Thursday — one day before the anniversary of the tragic plane crash that took her life 16 years ago — will be released next summer.

A 2015 petition, dubbed #AaliyahForMAC, called on the mega-makeup brand to honor Aaliyah, who died at age 22, with her own collection. The petition fell short of the 35,000 signatures, but MAC took notice and went forward with the line in conjunction with Aaliyah’s family.

“In partnership with the family, #AaliyahforMAC celebrates the late singer’s legacy, a tribute requested by her loving fans,” @MACcosmetics posted on Twitter.

The “More Than a Woman” singer, born Aaliyah Dana Haughton in Brooklyn, died Aug. 25, 2001, in a plane crash in the Bahamas.

Aaliyah released three studio albums, “Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number” (1994), “One in a Million” (1996), and the self-titled “Aaliyah” (2001), which came out just a month before her death. She also starred in films like “Romeo Must Die” and “Queen of the Damned,” the latter released after her death.

MAC introduced a similar collection for Latina singer Selena last year, who was murdered in 1995 at 23.

Aaliyah has remained a cultural icon since her death and is lauded by critics with redefining the pop/R&B genre that ruled the late ’90s and early ’00s.
